...Rollercoaster.

Personal life = rollercoaster of emotions.  Things in the past should stay in the past.  Thanks CL for listening, definitely wasn't easy to get through.  You're a true brother!

So the silver lining in all this?  I've decided to take the safe route.  It's not as bad as I thought it would be.  It helps when I don't talk to them I suppose.  So begins the next journey.  This time, I have a much better feeling on this one...

...Summer's over.

It wasn't much of a summer, but tried my best to make the most out of it.  Went home to Toronto twice, which was totally awesome!  Each time was very memorable.  Made me realize more and more how much I miss home...  Where else can I find such great friends and Popeye's Chicken?

School's starting up again, which means work is getting back into full swing.  Activated at least ten cable lines today, and that's just the first day back.  Many more to come in the following weeks.  I should get back to my studies, which I've procrastinated on far too long...  My dad's in town so he adds to how long I've been procrastinating...  Lots of postings I see out there are wanting some form of certification, so that adds to the pressure of getting it over with...

Personal life = complicated.  Go the safe route and let them experience karma, or go for a chance and finish what I should've finished long ago?

...Decisions, decisions...

...What's the fun in playing it safe?

Not taking risks makes life boring.  Of course there's degree of risk as learned through my undergraduate Economics days.  So where do I stand in terms of risk?  I'm in-between.  Some risks are just not worth it, but some risks are worth taking.  This weekend I did take some risks that reaped some rewards, but also others that epic failed as H or C would say.  Regardless of the outcome, it made life more interesting.  I've done things out in Calgary that I haven't/wouldn't do in Toronto.  Definitely learning more and more about life and myself while I'm out here.  Will my experiences here change how I am?  We'll see...

...For now, I can't wait for summer!

Throw Some D's

...EPIC weekend!

Oh shit I can honestly say it's been a long time coming!  Finally partied it up properly in Calgary!  Definitely threw down some D's!  CL's EPIC birthday weekend was seriously two weeks in the making.  H and I had promised him good times.  Started out with some dinner at my place and pre-drinking.  H passed out pretty quick lol...  Blames it on working out (sure, that's what it was!).  Beers, coolers, and a shot of Brandy later, we hit up Opus.  Was definitely NOT bumping when we get there (still too early).  Had more drinks and met CL's co-workers.  Very very cool bunch!  Once again, more drinks and even got Talisker.  Unfortunately, it tasted bad as who knows how long they haven't served it (should've known when they had to dig it out of their stock somewhere).  Fortunately though, that shot kept me warm as I had lent my jacket out to one of CL's ladyfriends when we were heading to The Whiskey for some clubbing and more drinks!  Dropped more drinks and found out CL's co-workers got mad moves on the dancefloor.  After a while, H is feeling hungry.  Time to peace out and grab some late night eats at the only late night place in Chinatown, U & Me.  After our late night snack, we head home, and we're in the midst of a snowstorm.  Not as nuts as what Toronto has received this winter, but definitely a nice way to end off the EPIC night.  Drop off CL and H and by the time I get home, H texts me saying he left his wallet in my car.  Sure enough, I find it along with some other of his shit in the back.  What more can I say, but Happy 24th Birthday CL!!!  I promised I'd deliver bro!

...The fun has just begun.

Year-end is in full swing and it is a drag for sure.  However, there's things to look forward to.  Went for random drinks/chills on Friday night.  Finally found a Korean bar in Calgary!  They even have cocktail soju too!  After an unsuccessful attempt to grab drinks/dessert at Dessert house, we ended up hitting 17th (we being H and CL).  17th was also a bust, as we couldn't find a place to drink.  Back to downtown, we try 8th Avenue or Stephen Avenue.  Again, no dice, but some nice cars down there.  Finally, we found our drinking spot, Sole.  Good place, but nothing to cry home about.  Coolest part was seeing H and CL buzzed/drunk.  H comes up with a random plan, "let's go hit up that bubble tea joint completely drunk!"  Mind you, we were already doing random shit anyways lol...  By the time we got there, it was one in the morning.  Did we take THAT long to find a place to drink and get buzzed/drunk?  Of course I was sober since I was DD for the night.  Indeed, it was good times with the boys.  Next two weekends booked.  Random trip to Banff for some baller brunch and possible trip to E-town/Edmonton/Dead-monton, depending on if C wants to get that car.  Oh and expensive, crappy-tasting dim sum too!  Following weekend, C's turning the big two-four so he'll be having at least a case of two-four!  Definitely good times finally in this usually boring city.

Edit:  Oh and more stick-driving with a Subaru this time!
